No plus-money side made the final card tonight because too many of the underdogs were either being asked to overcome the wrong pitching matchup or to survive without enough offensive depth behind them.

That does not mean every favorite was easy to lay. It just means the available dogs did not offer the right mix of price, mound stability, and full-game path to justify publication.

On a slate like this, passing is the sharper move than forcing an underdog angle that sounds fun but does not hold up over nine innings.
