Arizona Diamondbacks over Tampa Bay Rays

LOSS
Arizona Diamondbacks vs Tampa Bay Rays prediction — 2026-06-27 • First pitch: 6:10 PM ET
Odds+119
Confidence0.195 (data points: 14.346/24.012)
PitchingJose Cabrera vs Cole Sulser
VenueTropicana Field

Arizona is worth the plus price because this is the kind of underdog spot where the better question is not who is safer, but who is more mispriced. The Diamondbacks have enough lineup length and enough offensive lift to make a modest road upset realistic, especially if the game stays tight long enough for one swing to decide it.

The Diamondbacks have already dropped the first two games of the series, including Saturday’s 4-2 loss, so this is not a momentum play. It is a buy-low spot. Arizona has still shown enough offensive quality over the larger sample to trust a bounce-back, and the visitors usually play better when they can put the game on the move rather than sit back for home runs.

Tampa Bay deserves respect at home, where the Rays have been difficult to pin down all season, and they got more power Saturday from Junior Caminero and Jonathan Aranda. Still, this price asks the home side to be meaningfully better than Arizona, and that is where the wager starts to stretch. In a dome game that should stay close, the Diamondbacks are live enough to justify the dog ticket.

Kansas City Royals over Chicago White Sox

LOSS

PitchingMichael Wacha vs Davis Martin

Kansas City is playable because the number gives the Royals room to win a game that should be decided by starting pitching and basic execution rather than sheer talent gap. Michael Wacha is the most stabilizing arm in this matchup, and underdog prices get interesting fast when the better starter is the one taking the plus sign.

The Royals have made life difficult on themselves, including another frustrating loss Saturday despite a strong Wacha outing, and that is the main risk in this ticket. The offense has stranded too much traffic and turned too many winnable innings into empty ones. But that also explains the price. If Kansas City is even average with runners on base, the shape of the game changes quickly.

Chicago has owned enough recent meetings to earn respect, and the White Sox do not need a huge edge to keep squeezing out these low-margin games. Davis Martin can also be effective when he gets chase early. The difference is that the White Sox are being priced like the sturdier side, and that feels aggressive against a veteran starter on the other bench. As an underdog, Kansas City is the more attractive bet.
