PitchingPaul Skenes vs Tomoyuki Sugano
VenueCoors Field
Pittsburgh is still the side, even in a park that can make every lead feel temporary. The price is never comfortable at Coors Field, but Paul Skenes gives the Pirates the cleanest path to control the pace, and that matters more than the altitude tax when the favorite also owns the sturdier bullpen profile.
The away side has the ace advantage, and that is the heartbeat of the pick. Skenes was touched for four runs the only other time he worked at Coors, yet his strikeout stuff is strong enough to stop a bad inning from becoming a collapse, and Pittsburgh does not need a track meet if he keeps traffic from piling up.
Colorado always has a puncher's chance at home, and Tomoyuki Sugano did turn in more than five innings of three-run ball in his last home start against the Cubs. The problem is that the Rockies still have to survive the middle and late innings against a deeper overall club, so the Pirates remain the more trustworthy side over nine innings.

PitchingWill Warren vs Andrew Abbott
VenueYankee Stadium
The Yankees are the pick because this sets up like a game where lineup depth can cover for a shaky pitching wrinkle. Andrew Abbott is good enough to keep Cincinnati in it, but New York still owns the cleaner offensive ceiling in its own park, and that makes the favorite the better side rather than just the louder name.
The Reds arrive with a real threat on the mound. Abbott has logged quality starts in three of his last four outings, yet Cincinnati is only 1-3 in those games, which is a reminder that solid starting work has not always been enough to carry the full game script.
New York's case rests on the home lineup continuing to do what it usually does at Yankee Stadium: pressure mistakes and cash in short porches. Will Warren's June has been uneven, but the Yankees can compensate for that if they get to the Cincinnati bullpen, and Paul Goldschmidt's recent hot stretch gives the middle of the order a steadier look than this price implies.

PitchingMax Meyer vs Trevor McDonald
VenueloanDepot park
Miami is the side because the Marlins have been playing cleaner baseball than the market still seems willing to price in. This is not a glamour handicap, but it is a strong one: better current form, a starter in rhythm, and a home environment that limits the kind of chaotic game San Francisco would prefer.
The Giants are not walking into an easy out. Trevor McDonald has allowed three earned runs or fewer in six of his eight starts, which gives San Francisco a real path to hang around, but the road offense has too often needed too many baserunners to manufacture enough damage.
The Marlins have the sharper edge because Max Meyer keeps giving them stable innings, and he entered this matchup looking to extend a club-record streak of 16 straight starts without a loss to open a season. Miami has also been one of the best stories of June, and that recent form fits the broader read that the home side is simply playing the better baseball right now.

PitchingEmerson Hancock vs Connelly Early
VenueT-Mobile Park
Seattle gets the nod because this looks like a Mariners-style game: enough pitching, enough defense, and just enough offense in a run-suppressing setting. The price is playable because Boston's best argument depends on a cleaner offensive night than the matchup naturally offers.
The Red Sox do bring a legitimate weapon in Connelly Early, who is 3-1 with a 2.82 ERA on the road this season. That keeps the upset on the board, but Boston has still been too inconsistent at finishing chances away from Fenway, and T-Mobile Park is not the place to count on extra free offense.
Seattle's case is more about fit than flash. Emerson Hancock comes back home after a rough road turn, and his last start in this park produced seven strikeouts, which is the version of him the Mariners need here. If the game stays on script, Seattle's bullpen and home-field run prevention make the favorite worth backing.

PitchingJ.T. Ginn vs Walbert Ureña
VenueSutter Health Park
The Athletics are the side because this matchup already showed how uncomfortable they can make the Angels look. The number is not cheap, but the shape of the game still favors the club with the starter who has already shown he can dominate this lineup and the offense that has been more reliable at turning pressure into runs.
The Angels are dangerous enough to ruin a favorite, especially if Zach Neto is again the one landing the big swing. He was the hitter who broke up J.T. Ginn's no-hit bid with a walk-off two-run homer last month, so Los Angeles does not come in blind to this matchup.
Even with that caveat, the home side deserves the lean. Ginn took a no-hitter into the ninth inning against the Angels on May 18, and that kind of baseline matters when the opponent is still vulnerable to quiet stretches at the plate. If Oakland gets comparable early innings again, it should have the better overall path to finish the job.

PitchingCristopher Sánchez vs Freddy Peralta
VenueCitizens Bank Park
Philadelphia is the right side because the Phillies have the more complete way to win this game. They can beat you with left-handed contact, with power late, or by handing a lead to a bullpen that usually looks more dependable than New York's, and that layered advantage is enough to justify the price.
The Mets are live because Freddy Peralta has a real history of competing against this lineup. He owns a 3.12 ERA in eight career outings, seven of them starts, against the Phillies, so there is a credible blueprint for New York to keep the game tight through the middle innings.
The home case still wins out. Cristopher Sanchez struck out six and allowed one earned run over six innings the last time he faced the Mets, and his mix is well built for a Philadelphia defense that usually turns balls in play into outs. In this park, with this offense behind him, the Phillies remain the sturdier side.

PitchingMacKenzie Gore vs Walker Buehler
VenueGlobe Life Field
Texas is the pick because this feels like a spot where home offense can decide the game with one well-timed burst. The gap here is not enormous, but the Rangers' lineup is carrying more current momentum than the market is fully respecting, and that makes the modest favorite worth riding.
San Diego still brings enough star power to flip the script. MacKenzie Gore can miss bats in bunches, and the Padres rarely need many swings from the top of the order to change the score, which is why this number has to be treated as earned rather than automatic.
The Rangers get the final edge because the home lineup is in a better rhythm. Wyatt Langford has been scorching the ball, slashing .414/.469/.793 over his last seven games, and that kind of form lengthens the order around him. If Texas gets even average starting work, the offense gives it the better chance to separate.

Pick 8
Houston Astros over Cleveland Guardians
LOSS
Houston Astros vs Cleveland Guardians prediction — 2026-06-20 • First pitch: 7:15 PM ET
Houston is the side because the Astros still own the cleaner top-to-bottom profile in this matchup. Cleveland can absolutely make it annoying with contact and energy, but the home club has the more trustworthy mix of starting upside, lineup force, and late-inning stability.
The Guardians are not showing up empty. Joey Cantillo steadied himself in his last outing by allowing only one run over five innings against Detroit, and that matters after a rough patch because it suggests Cleveland can at least keep the game in the smaller-margin range it prefers.
The Astros still rate higher because Spencer Arrighetti's ceiling is bigger, especially at home. He entered looking for his first June win after taking the AL Pitcher of the Month award in May, and Houston's offense had fresh life too after Jeremy Pena's two-homer game in the series. That combination keeps the Astros on the correct side of the number.

Pick 9
Chicago Cubs over Toronto Blue Jays
LOSS
Chicago Cubs vs Toronto Blue Jays prediction — 2026-06-20 • First pitch: 2:20 PM ET
The Cubs are the pick because this looks like the better blend of current power, home environment, and lineup pressure. The number is reasonable for a Chicago club that can score in multiple ways and does not need a dominant pitching advantage to justify a play at Wrigley.
Toronto has a case if the middle of the order is finally waking up. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. snapped a long power drought with his first homer since May 17 on Thursday, and if that is a real sign of lift rather than a one-night blip, the Blue Jays become much harder to manage.
Chicago still carries the stronger offensive rhythm into the game. Pete Crow-Armstrong has been heating up fast, with eight of his 15 homers this season coming in June, and his speed-power mix changes the tone of every inning. With that kind of pressure at home, the Cubs remain the better side.

PitchingYoshinobu Yamamoto vs Trevor Rogers
VenueUNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium
The Dodgers are the side because the pitching mismatch is simply too strong to ignore. Baltimore has enough young talent to create a scare, but this price is driven by Yoshinobu Yamamoto's ability to own the strike zone from the first inning on, and that is still the cleanest angle on the board.
The Orioles do have one encouraging note. Jackson Holliday homered the last time he faced Yamamoto, breaking up a no-hit bid, which is a reminder that Baltimore can punish even a small mistake if it sees the ball early enough.
The broader picture still points hard toward Los Angeles. Yamamoto was three outs away from a no-hitter in his previous start, and he also carried a no-no into the ninth inning against Baltimore last September. When the Dodgers can pair that level of starting command with their usual offensive depth, the favorite is the only sensible side.

PitchingTaj Bradley vs Zac Gallen
VenueChase Field
Minnesota is the play because the underdog price gives enough room for a live road club that can match Arizona's strengths more closely than the line suggests. This is less about overpowering the Diamondbacks and more about taking the side whose path to an upset is realistic in almost every phase of the game.
The Twins need their starter to keep this from becoming a chase, and there is reason to think that can happen. Taj Bradley went six innings and allowed three runs the last time he faced Arizona, which is exactly the sort of competent road work that can keep Minnesota in a profitable spot.
Arizona has the obvious home-case anchor in Zac Gallen, who just logged his third quality start of the season in his last outing. Even so, the Diamondbacks have not created enough separation to make this price unattractive, and Minnesota's ability to hang around makes the plus number the more appealing side.

Washington is the plus-money side because the Nationals have been much more resilient away from home than people expected, and this price finally gets to a point where their recent competitiveness matters. Tampa Bay is the better public story, but this matchup looks tighter than the badge names suggest.
The Nationals are traveling with real momentum. They entered trying to secure a sixth straight road-series win, which would have tied a franchise record, and that kind of sustained road steadiness is not something to dismiss when you are taking an underdog.
Tampa Bay still has the stronger home profile, and Junior Caminero brought a 15-game hitting streak at Tropicana Field into the day while the Rays owned the best home record in baseball at 25-9. Even with that, the market gave Washington enough value to back the price rather than the favorite.

Pick 13
Atlanta Braves over Milwaukee Brewers
WIN
Atlanta Braves vs Milwaukee Brewers prediction — 2026-06-20 • First pitch: 4:10 PM ET
Atlanta is the side because the Braves have the higher-end pitching card and the more dangerous offensive ceiling if this game opens up at all. Milwaukee can absolutely turn it into a grinder, but the home club has more ways to win and a better chance to own the pivotal innings.
The Brewers are not an easy fade, especially with Kyle Harrison throwing the ball this well. He had allowed zero runs in four of his previous six starts, so Milwaukee entered with a very real path to suppress Atlanta long enough to steal the game.
The Braves still deserve the lean because Chris Sale's stuff has looked louder again. His four-seamer has averaged better than 97 mph in each of his last three starts, the hardest he has thrown it since 2019, and that version of Sale gives Atlanta the biggest single-game edge on the field. If the Braves give him even modest support, they should be the side.

Detroit is the pick because this is the kind of game where the steadier club usually cashes. The Tigers do not need a huge gap to justify the number; they just need their cleaner run prevention and more reliable late-game shape to hold against a Chicago team that still leans too heavily on individual bursts.
The White Sox have at least one hitter forcing attention. Colson Montgomery came in slashing .300/.364/.950 with four homers over his last seven games, which gives Chicago a real chance to do damage early if Detroit falls behind in counts.
The home side still has the better overall build. Troy Melton was looking for his fourth win in five starts since returning from the injured list on May 24, and that recent stretch speaks to the stability Detroit wants from this spot. With a deeper support cast behind him, the Tigers remain the better side.
